Bookworm is Nelson Gruber, bibliophile, neuroscience geek and one-time supervillain (for very literal values of "one-time.") He first appeared in the pages of Sleepwalker, one of Marvel's lousier comics back in the 90s. As a result of events way too goofy to get into, he developed the ability to summon any fictional character(s) he happens to be reading about at a given time and have them completely subservient to his will. He was bested by Sleepwalker and Alyssa Conover and jailed - then given the bibliophobic equivalent of the Hannibal Lecter TreatmentTM i.e. no access to reading material of any kind, not even t-shirts.
He is a lot more powerful than he thinks he is (Think literal manifestation of Revelations 16: 1-21, for a start). Fortunately for the world, he does not realize this.
Bookworm is kinda sorta being borrowed from Marvel Comics by
razorsmile for potential roleplaying purposes. No money will be made, no ownership claimed; also,
razorsmile is poor. If you sue ... well, you can have his blood, I supppose.
